Seattle: "Most literate city in America in 2005"

Lizzy & I decided to do something with our miraculous time off from work and went our merry way up to Seattle to shop around and see some friends who go to school there. We had a rockin' good time filled with a BBQ, Die Hard, hanging out, traffic, good music and some shopping. There's nothing better then buying yourself some flowers down at Pike's Market and eating some fish and chips on the warf.

Why do you do what you do?

I'm steering away from the usual post today to bring your attention to a really cool site I stumbled on tonight. Head on over to Why do you do what you do? It's a simple concept. People send in their photographs to answer that very question and most do it in some pretty interesting ways. I thought I would give it a go and so I chose to use a photograph taken while I was in Edinburgh, Scotland.

This also relates perfectly because Portland has held a few different collaborations with the website if you scroll down and take a glance.

Oh PDX, you do us so proud.

"Come to me with the worst you've said & done."

Today I had a big surprise waiting for me when I got home. My boyfriend bought me a relaxing trip to the spa! I don't really know what to say, but I'll say it again. Wow, thank you! I'm excited to melt away all my school and wisdom teeth extraction worries. Plus, I've never been and can only imagine how amazing it will be. Thank you! Thank you! The top picture shows the gift certificate which was itself a feast of beauty to this graphic design student.

My second photograph shows more graffiti that has been popping up all over Northwest Portland. I've seen a couple other things of theirs around and I've got to say how much I like it. Very wistful and not obnoxious like a lot of graffiti seems to be with me.

Cheers!

Photos 103 - 120 (aka photo dump)

Okay! I finally got internet but right now it's being really dumb.
Here are 17 pictures, and I will upload the other 20 later.

I found my journals and started writing again.

Kitty!

This is my new kitty, Jax.
He's a little snot but I love him so.

My kittens and college bound brother

In the first picture it looks like my cat, Neko, is hatching my roommate's cat, Sammy, like a chicken. I laughed so hard. They look ridiculous. The second picture is my brother enthralled in some computer game. He and my Dad came over the weekend to register my brother for college. Jeez, how they grow up.

My historical MAX

Today is Sunday. That means that its the one day of the week when Portland brings out their antique MAX trolley and parades it around downtown. It's pretty fun actually. There's usually an old man in costume, on a microphone, talking about how Portland used to look. You can find more information about the MAX's far reaching past here at Trimet's website.

My pool of daisies

Just in case you were wondering, Mary apparently has broken her camera, hence the no updating on her part. We'll be starting a collection fund. You can send all your hundred dollar bills to me and I'll make sure she gets them...Heh heh heh. So, you might be wondering why I'm up at six in the morning and I don't even have to be anywhere. Me either. Seriously, England has done some strange things to me. (In more ways then one)

The strangest day jobs

My two weeks of the United Kingdom

Weeell, I'm back from the U.K. Above you will see an assortment of London, Scotland and a thousand other little English countryside towns, churches and miscellaneous things I saw on my all too short trip. I would write more then that, but jet lag sucks and I have been awake for way too many hours. If you have any questions about where the picture is from you can e-mail me or you know, pick up your mobile and give me a ring. Cheers!
