My departure from America
The bottom photo was taken from the Portland Art Museum. Yesterday Bridget, the best co-worker ever, hooked me up with some free tickets to see Rembrandt: And the Golden Age of Dutch Art. If you're an aspiring art historian (or something to that effect), then that is a good way to pass an afternoon. The top photograph is taken from SE Portland. If you look really closely in the back you can see it says: "Things are looking better."
So, lucky for me I am leaving for Europe tomorrow and will be gone until July. I'm not taking my laptop so that pretty much guarantees that I won't be able to upload pictures for awhile. However, that does mean when I get back that I will have awesome photographs to share with you all.
Happy June!

My fleet week
The first photograph is from today when I walked to work in the pouring rain. Oddly, it was sort of fun. After a certain point you get so wet that its just funny. I looked like a drowning mouse with my hair in pigtail buns. The second picture is from yesterday when the weather was crisply warm and I walked down to the river to see the Navy boats docked. And where there's Navy boats, there's Navy men. Oo la la! (Whatever, every girl likes a man in uniform...)

My anatomical experience
Nothing new on the home front. I rented The Queen in preparation of my England trip (plus I had been meaning to see it). Bodyworlds opens at OMSI tomorrow and I got to preview it as an employee. All I have to say is wow. I really liked how they tied in philosophical ways of looking at death. It really grounded the whole experience. Go see it if you have the cash, but only go if I'm not working. (Can you tell I'm excited for the big crowds?)
Twelve days until London!

My Alphabet Town
This weekend is the Rose Festival in Portland. It's a beautiful celebration of parades, carnivals, fireworks, Navy ships, pirate ships, and more. I even managed to fit in a baseball game.
